Hi, we are relocating soon and visited a lot of properties. Currently we narrowed it down to 2 options, being 3000 Sage Rd and the Dominion Post Oak. We like both of them; the large layout of 3000 Sage and especially the views at the Dominion.
As my wife will be mainly at home during the day, I am looking for a safe place for her, at which she can easily park her car and walk to her car alone.
Who can help me deciding?

Thanks

I was in the same situation when we moved to Houston and lived in the Galleria area. We didn't look at the police reports before we signed the lease. We had to move from the apartment we had signed the lease (they refunded) to a new one that seems to be more safe. You may want to check the crime statistics at City of Houston eGovernment Center. Download the excel file and see how often your apartment "address" or neighborhood have been in the reports each month. Stay away if you see 4-5 burglary and/or auto theft reported at the address every month. Auto theft might be more common among the apartments that don't have the gates. People may think the Galleria area is safe but there are some neighborhoods you don't want to live. I would not want to live very close to Westheimer. Some (not all) apartments on San Felipe, Woodway, etc. seem to be OK. Burglary

I know a lot of singles in 3000 Sage and they really enjoy it. White Collar, Single and Rowdy might best describe the place.

However, I would really recommend The Deerwood, about two miles away, in Tanglewood off Woodway. Very safe neighborhood area and great walking.

La Tour Fountaine isn't bad either, but certainly closer to Westhiemer.

I second EA on Deerwood Apts on Woodway. Very nice neighborhood. It's much better to live further north towards Woodway. The immediate area near the Deerwood is mostly individually owned condominiums and townhomes. For the money you'll pay for a high rise apartment with a not-always-so-secure parking garage, you could rent a nice townhome with an attached 2 car garage. These can be found under "Residential Leases" at har.com. Look up 77057 - recommend the 600 to 1500 blocks of Bering and Augusta Drive between Woodway and San Felipe. It's a great area where you'll see people walking their dogs, jogging, etc., not necessarily where the "rowdies" hang out LOL. It's something you might want to consider.
