Nope. I've never even heard of Houston. That's a street in NYC right?

Default Parking spots for people with children

Hi everyone. I did not want to start a new thread, but I did want to vent my anger. I went to HEB in Katy this afternoon. I waited until my husband got home so he could watch the kids. I am walking to the store and there is this woman in her SUV and she has parked in the spot that is supposed to be reserved for people with children, and she had no children in her car!
Now, I have a 2 & 3 year old at home and those spots are very helpful when I take them to the store.
So anyway, she is getting ready to back up and I motion for her to roll the window down. I tell her she is parked in this reserved spot and she says, "I have children." (I did stall for a few seconds because of this idiotic reply.) I tell her so do I, but I would certainly never park in that spot unless they were with me. She tells me to mind my own business and I tell her what a stupid b**ch she is.
You know, I know its not against the law to park in those spots without children, but it is just common courtesy.
Sorry, I just needed to vent. I do wish I had gotten her license plate number, though...

Well that's not very considerate.

A little extra walking never hurt any kids though.

Thank you. And yes, you are right about the walking, although it is more difficult with 2 little ones.
BTW, I love all your photos that you have been posting. Well done!

I'm just guessing, but I think what HEB had in mind in designating those parking spots are women with little ones they have to carry. Walking from the back of the parking lot is great unless you are toting a baby carrier or 31 pound, wriggly two year old and your purse.

Unfortunately, inconsiderate people are everywhere. I wonder how much more you would have influenced the women not to do it again, if you hadn't busted out the "b" word.
Just sayin...it was just a parking spot, after all. Don't let it ruin your day.

Default Anyone see that woman in Galveston who stopped purse snatcher?

Anybody happen to see the news article on KTRK (on their Web site) about the woman dining in Galveston who chased a purse snatcher and broke her leg in the process of the chase? Said she grabbed his shirt and 5 men who jumped in to aid, held the guy down till police arrived. Check out his mug shot - looks like they busted him up a bit before cops arrived -- some Texas justice perhaps. Nice to see where people let criminals know that crime doesn't pay and not everything is easy pickings. Also saw where a guy chased a bank robber down outside of downtown too - believe that was yesterday. Said he was tired of people who don't work thinking they had a right to take things away from those who do work.

Y'all just pronounce it wrong in NYC - that's why you never heard of it.

It's "Hugh's-Tun" not "How's-Tun"

Just pickin' on ya as a former New Yawker.

A lot of East Coast states also have towns called "Houston" where it's pronounced like the street and not the city. Funny, because Houston was actually founded by New Yawkers.
