I purchase a Harris County foreclosure (house) this year. I received the taxes from HCAD and there billing me since 1999 to 2010. I did a title search and it was not on the report can anyone explain the process to have this remove or the direction to go. Thanks to anyone that can help a US Army Veteran out.

I have attended numerous auctions.
It's worth the price of admission (free) to see how the process works and at times can be very entertaining (bidding wars).
Each Precinct holds its auctions in different locations around the courthouse, so if you are interested in a specific property you need to know where to locate yourself.

And you need cash in hand or a certified line of credit. No checks or credit cards. There is nothing like seeing some guy count out $100,000 in small bills to buy a property.

Do your research to fully understand what you are buying, and know the rights of the previous owner.
Don't make any improvements for 6 months, as the previous owner could pony up the back taxes and it is his again.

I've done some research on properties and had a list of properties that I wanted to pay special attention to when they were being auctioned off but, my problem was in Identifying the trustee who is supposed to auction off the property. They pretty much stand at ground level with everyone else and have no disticnt sign or sign or even I.D., to make matters worse, some of them never speak up so only the people right next to them can hear the property description.
Any help?
