The wooden strip/divider between the joints of driveway concrete block came out from one side and causing a major trip hazard. It wont just go in and keep coming out on one edge. how do we fix this? do i need to rip off the strip and reinstall? who can do this type of service?

You can get something like this and install it. SlabGasket Expansion Joint Replacement

I think they sell something similar at HD or Lowes.

Just remove the offending piece. It's just an expansion joint. Over the years the removal won't harm anything, and you could fill the gap with a caulking like the previous poster said if you don't want to have an open space.

I looked into SlabGasket and it was going to run me about $1,500 to do every expansion joint on my property . Detached 3-car garage with fairly long driveway, 20x15 patio, and some sidewalk. Looks like a good product and I want to do something, but that's a hard pill to swallow...

If you don't want to drop the cash on the expansion calking just sweep some river sand into the gaps after you take the wood out.

Our was rotting and disintegrating, so I pulled it all out and replaced it with this stuff. Just measures how much I needed and got it at Ace hardware. They have different widths available. To do my driveway and the sidewalk next to my foundation cost $100 or something like that. Just used a rubber mallet to tamp it down really good. I'm a woman and did the project entirely by myself in half a day.
