A lot of small one-bedrooms factor heavily into that average. Unfortunately we get a lot of inquiries looking for a good-sized house, in a good school district, close to their job - for that price.

I just noticed that each point on the map is the average of surrounding area. I thought it was pointing to specific properties.

this doesn't really help.... it doesn't give specifics like size, garage, amenities. age of property, etc.

I can draw a map and put random numbers too

I don't get why folks want rent at 1000/month and expect to have access to nice, popular amenities and being able to go to sleep without fearing for your life. Unless you know someone who'll rent you a room cheap or get extremely lucky on craigslist, these places don't exist.

They do...you're just not going to be in the Loop. Or anywhere close to it. There's a lot of apartments on Gessner near Willowbrook Mall where a 1 bedroom is less than $1000 and the area isn't ghetto. AMC has been taken over by wannabe kids at night but as a whole it's still nice.

The same with the apartments up and down Cypresswood especially closer to 249. Amenities are nice but it's not Washington Ave a few blocked away. DT a few blocks away.

The Lighthouse at Willowbrook looks the nicest on the outside an I've seen more cars go in there and a 2/1 bath is $1075.
