I am the first homeowner and plan to protest my home value with HCAD. I saw some folks mentioned the inform hearing. Can anyone tell me how to schedule an inform hearing? And anything I should know about the inform hearing?

Thank you!

Good luck.... it is not easy. I actually had a friend to go protest and they ended up raising the price. I made fun of him for weeks. And he is a lawyer! All the info is on the website.

Step 1. Make an appointment.
Step 2. Waste your afternoon going to the informal hearing.
Step 3. Realize it's a complete and total waste of your time talking to someone with no answers and no authority.
Step 4. Schedule your ARB appointment.
Step 5. Take 3 deep breaths.

Thank you for the tips. I have read some information and decided to do the online filing first.

I have already taken the first deep breath
