Interesting thought but even folks from North side avoid getting on 290 during rush hour... I will check on Friday

So far the commute has been nightmare. Everyday I am spending bout 4.5 hrs on the road. Feels good to be back at home though You all are right. 6.30am isn't early enough. Takes me 2 hours to reach my destination. Tomorrow I am thinking about leaving before 6, lets see

Houston rush hour traffic is worst than LA. There is no flow. The lanes are not wide enough for rush hour volume and if there is an accident you are screwed.

Thanks for the feedback

You got it! I ve been saying this for years, this traffic is worst than southern cali, traffic here come to a complete stop. if there is an accident. You are screwed for sure. The emergency crew here makes it worse. They don't move the accident out of the way of traffic.

You need to leav your house before 5.45

I think you'd just be on the frontage road of 290 west (opposite traffic) for a very short time before turning onto Bauer. So basically get off 99, turn onto Bauer (if that's possible). Take a GPS and let us know how it goes!

I have made this commute for 3+ years and it's not "that" bad but it's all about timing!! You HAVE to leave BEFORE 5:40 to get to The Woodlands. Coming back you better be on the freeway at 4pm at the latest. Can't leave early? Get a gym pass and workout until 6pm and wait for traffic to die down. Should take you 45 mins in the morning and 45-60 mins on your way back. It's all about timing. Those back roads are going to take you forever!!! From the back of the woodlands to 45 some coworkers take 40+ mins!!
