Call your mortgage company and ask them or check your statement as it will state what is applied to escrow and the breakdown of taxes, ins, etc.

Do you have a house, or are you just trying to get an estimate? You can look up an address and see what the taxing authorities are on the tax websites,( http://www.fbcad.org/Appraisal/PublicAccess/ ) then look up the tax rate for each of them and figure out what the homestead exemption would change the rates by, but it will take looking up a particular property to get all the specifics. As a general rule, most taxes are about 3% of the appraised value, and a homestead exemption reduces that tax by about 12-20%.

Good luck!

If you are trying to calculate property taxes for an area then you will need the effective tax rate for that area.

You will also need to know the appraised value of the home which can be found on the fbcad (existing home) site. If the home is brand new then that value will vary and you will only be able to estimate the annual taxes at this time until a cad value has been established.

If you have the address or owner info on the house, you can go to most taxing authority sites and get the taxes paid for the last few years. The appraisal districts provides all of the taxing sites and has some links. HCAD links to school, county and MUDs.
