We've fallen in love with eagle springs up in humble- but we are really unsure how long the commute will be. Does anyone drive down to La Porte?
My husband works in La Porte right off the 146. What do the tolls cost every day?

Though we love the community we are unsure if we can afford to live there on a single income.
Can anyone give specifics on the costs? Water, energy, dues, etc. ??
My husband earns around 125k and we were originally looking at houses 250k and under around league city...
We don't want to be house poor

Thanks for any and all info provided.

Cheers!

Really depends on a few more factors, such as other monthly debts owed, how much you're putting down, terms of financing, etc.

Not 100% sure, but that drive would be about 45-60 minutes I think. There are a couple of ways you could go that would affect time and tolls, depending on what you would want to do. My husband goes to a refinery at the other end of 225 (close to 610), and it's about the same distance, and it usually takes him about that length of time depending on when he leaves.
Here is toll rate information so you can route different ways and see what might work for your husband: https://www.hctra.org/tollroads_rate...nter-clockwise

HOA dues are $810 (if I remember correctly) a year. There are 2 MUD districts within ES. Energy costs are completely dependent on the size of your house, how cold/warm you like your house, and which energy provider you use.

There are lots if people who live here that have 1 parent at home. I would assume that you could safely live here on one income with that salary, but I don't know your debt:income ratio.

Thanks for your replies- our debt is 2 car payments of $350 biweekly.
I was concerned about the small day to day things adding up.
Water, tolls, gas.
We would like the kids to participate in all the sports, dance, gymnastics etc. so a fair bit of our expenses goes towards the kids.

What is it you love about Eagle Springs?

There may be another neighborhood that would be closer, but it depends upon what you want.
