It seems they only have three other locations and decided to venture in to Texas via Katy...

Newk's Eatery

Well, the salad photos are making me hungry... I've not eaten dinner yet.

They have a lot of locations in MS. It's an interesting concept, might work well if it was downtown, galleria, or by the energy corridor just because they seem to focus on more lunch type items. I'll probably try it once it opens but being next to BJs I know the family would rather go there!

There is a Newk's in Cypress at 290 near Barker Cypress. It's been there at least a couple of years. Good salads, sandwiches and desserts. The cakes are reminiscent of Sugaree's Bakery in MS. We would welcome a location over in the Vintage Park area, though still wishing for a Ruggles Green!

Wow, they sure upgraded their logo! Though you can still see the old multi-colored logo on pictures of their food. For me, it's like a less good Panera. It's not bad. I have a friend who insists on eating there everytime we're in Shreveport. But she loves bland food and she raves about their mac and cheese. For me, it was just ok.

I drive by the upcoming new location each day on the way to work and wonder who the heck would name their place "Newks"? Just the name alone reminds me of microwave dinner. Sorry, that is the first thing I thought of when I saw the sign.

At least that was food related, I thought it was a furniture store.

You read the website wrong, those are just the newest locations to open. They are actually a Mississippi-based chain with locations in 11 states. I enjoy the sandwiches and soups.
