Does anyone know what schools these apartments will be zoned to? Heard from a contractor yesterday that 3 500-unit buildings are going up right there. I think he said 2 will be north of 10 and one will be south.

Thanks all!

The ones south of 10 are going to go to Wilchester. Not sure which middle school (heard that was up in the air due to enrollment at MMS), but Stratford HS. But I think those are mostly townhouses, not apartments. North of 10 is Sherwood, I think. Memorial Middle is really going to be straining with all the new complexes going in for their zoning. From Bunker Hill to Kirkwood along I-10.

I like Meadowood better now. Smaller school, and they got several specialty teachers from Frostwood a couple years ago that are stellar.

And there's always Westchester Academy as an option. With enrollment going the way it is they really need to switch that back to a neighborhood school in a few years, but the diversity hounds will never let that happen. The Horror!!

Thanks for this info. MMS is still the "preferred" middle school in the area, right?

Yes, MMS is still the best Middle School

How many apartments do you think have gone up in the Memorial middle area? City centre, and maybe one or two other complexes is all I have seen....I know they are supposed to be building another City Centre like development along Memorial near town/country, but that is all I have seen really...

I guess I dont pay enough attention...I seldom drive off of I-10 past Bunker Hill...

PinkLady, are you referring to The Grove (the pink building) and The Arabella (still under construction) on the north side of 10 near Wilcrest? I just looked them up but didn't see specific zoned campuses. It looks like The Grove has about 365 units...not sure about The Arabella. I can't quite tell if it is exclusively townhomes or a mix of apartments and townhomes. Both look upscale and pricey. You can always contact the leasing agent and see what campuses they are zoned to.
