Looking at a rental in the Bonaire neighborhood of Cypress.
I know the houses are older and we drove around the neighborhood, it seems nice enough.
We are only planning to rent for 1 or 2 years, max so I'm not concerned about long term.
My younger brother will be staying with us as well, he's 16 and apparently this neighborhood is zoned to Cy-Fair High which is a good school, right?

Would this be a safe area to live? And walk our dogs in the evening?

TIA

It's good and safe. We used to live nearby in Oak Cliff Place. The houses are old yes, but the location is safe and schools are good. Good proximity for shopping, dining, errands.

Many are paying more money for worse areas.

Grew up in a neighborhood close to Bonaire my entire childhood/adolescent/teenage years, and my mother still lives over near there there. Had many, many friends in Bonaire. Bonaire has gotten older, but there are many of the same people living there now that were there 20 years ago. It's a nice, quiet, and relatively safe area. Don't let the age scare you.
