Now you understand how absolutely silly people sound when they carry on about how awful the traffic is in the Triangle.

If you don't like to drive why are you looking at remote suburbs far from everything? :P

seeing the freeways for the first time from where I came from would be overwhelming for anyone. but like everything else in life, I adapt or I'll get my husband to drive. is there even a neighborhood in anywhere in houston where would i never have to drive? it's not NYC, where public transportation is the norm.

Welcome to a car dependent big city, USA. Congrats for moving up in life and not stagnating and making excuses.

There are places in Houston where you never have to get on a freeway if you don't want to. You just have to live closer to your work. That's the beauty of Houston. of course you will have to pay more to be in a nice area with good schools.

Edit: Jacobs reserve is not even in the Woodlands, it's in Conroe! Wow, that's really far from Houston. I hope the work location is in north Houston, Conroe, or The Woodlands.

What's the triangle?

To the op, never heard of those neighborhoods. I live in meyerland and did manage to stay off the freeways for about 8 years except when traveling. Lots of places you can avoid the freeways in the city. But then I had a baby and I couldn't deal with waiting at red lights (he was like...dude, mom, we are stopped...come get me noooooow) so I forced myself to get used to the freeways. The first time I ever drove on the freeway was in houston. I was then

work right now is not a problem. i stay at home with the kids and my husband is going to be working from the house except when visiting customers. but we have never been home together for longer than a week. so, I might have to get a job just to get out of the house

the triangle refers to the raleigh/durham area of NC. folks in that area are always saying how terrible it is to drive on I-40 and the 440 beltway. i remember the days when i would pray i would never hit a red light. everytime i did i heard screaming at the top of my sons lungs... he did not like to be stopped in the car either!!!!

on a side note how do you quote 2 people in one post?

Yeah work from home is the best option to avoid traffic. I do it full-time, so none of that headache for me.

To quote 2 people click the multi-quote button for each post and the button turns red. Then click the post reply button at the bottom and your message box will be populated with both posts quoted.
