Mobile One synthetic is insanely cheap there and my car gulps 8 quarters in a change.
I have to agree, as I go to those two occasionally since they are by my work. I hate going to the Wal-Marts nearer to my house as they are not the same. I'm just glad we were able to keep them from building a store across the street from our neighborhood!

And that reminds me, I need to stock up on oil! Although Advance Auto has some pretty good deals on oil and filter combos too.

That happens at nearly every mass merchandise and grocery store in the Houston area. Weekends, late afternoons and early evenings are particularly bad. When overworked parents take their kids shopping with them, it's a rare chance to spend "quality time" with their offspring. Everyone is relaxed, Mom and Dad talk on their phones, rules of safety and courtesy are ignored.

You can usually find a 30% off coupon code for advance auto too. Order online and go get it.

That stinks. It's right across apts I used to live at. If this happens, their rent will go down finally for sure lol.

Mainly, I feel bad for the bellaire residents that border this spot they're building. That entire area outside 610 and south/or east of 59 may go down in value some and less desirable. I know I wouldn't move back to those apts if this wal mart is opened.

Good. Then it's as I thought: All those SUV-driving Tanglewood mothers who let their kids run wild at Cafe Express on Woodway while they chat away are trashy.

I have to agree with Schumacher. Nothing else was ever going to go in there.

I drive through there every day and have been for years. It's in a no mans land between Bellaire proper and Westpark. It's on the wrong side of 59. There already a huge Sams Club across the street, and everything to the west of that is warehouses and Gulfton.

While it's disappointing there isn't a better development, it's so disconnected from the surrounding neighborhoods and the wealthy part of Bellaire I don't think anyone is going to care. It's not like this sort of a development on that vacant freeway adjacent property is a surprise. It's considered part of the wasteland in the freeway system over there and a Wal Mart probably isn't going to lower the perception below what it already is.

Should've been Target. The people with Bay Bay's kids don't shop in Target. Everything is $2 more than Walmart so they stick to Walmart.

I had a couple give me the stick eye for tripping over their kids. More like the boy tripped me!

Well excuse me for walking.

Get his *** OFF the dirty floor crawling! He scared the mess out of me crawling through the racks playing chase with his brother and he was too damn big for that. That's just bad parenting. Take them to McDonalds or a park if they want to play like that.

Walmart customers as a whole are a trip and not one employee looks like they enjoy working there. It's like staff development is seminars on how to give bad customer service.

Unfortunately, working retail when dealing with lower end customers, service often devolves into identification of scams, grifters, and loss prevention.

That store will have a nice stream of barrio clientele. Once you go south of 59, aside from Bellaire things change in an instant.
