We're certainly not the best city in America. It's hard to even make an argument for being the best city in Texas. Austin probably takes that crown.

Austin does some things better while Houston does other things better. It's quite the apples and oranges comparison, so the city that "takes the crown" depends entirely on the individual. I guess the argument isn't that hard after all.

Now when it comes to being the best in America, I agree that there are some cities Houston simply can't beat, but even this is relative.

You're right about that. San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, and Houston can all make arguments for being the best. Which is why Houston doesn't even come close to being the best in America. If it can't easily top the rest of the cities in it's own state than it doesn't stand a chance with the rest of the country.

...if you're in O&G industry, or an astronaut.

A lot of this is unsustainable boomtown stuff. You can go to a different restaurant every day though, if you can afford both the rent and going out to eat every day. Hope it's all going still in five years. Kinda looking like the late 70s all over again, and that party ended too.
