I have just retired and would like to buy a town home or condo in Houston. I am looking for something under $100,000. Does anyone know if Forrest Lake Townhomes would be a safe location for someone like me? It is in Greater Inwood. It appears to be a gated community. Also does it flood in that area?

Those gates won't help. Get out of zip 77092. Look in HAR in MLS area 31.

Is 77092 so dangerous? I looked at area 31; not much there right now.

If you will take a drive through the area, it will become apparent. A key question is "would I walk my dog at night?" The answer is no in that zip. Anything that cheap and that close to town - there is a very good reason for it.

That's a good idea. I will drive around the area tomorrow and see.
