For what it's worth, the areas west of The Grand Parkway (99) will grow, and be new compared to the Copper Lakes area. Not to throw cold water on your plans, but I had a friend who moved out of Copper Lakes a couple of years ago, but only because his daughter started to attend a high school with a lot of ungrateful, want-to-be-stupid kids, if you know what I mean. From what he described, the problem kids were not mainly from Copper Lakes, but other neighborhoods who all went to the same high school. He lived near Loganbaugh (sp?) and Barker Cypress area, it was a very nice neighborhood, but I'm taking his word for it when it comes to the high school situation.

Is there that much difference in cooper lakes Vs. Falcon Point? which is a better bet?
Falcon Point is starting to have many folks sell due to the large influx of apartments around it, I would go with Cooper Lakes due to the "shorter commute as it affects your quality of life"

I read somewhere there was a school area re-mapping happened couple of years back and after that now the schools and school district is better - is that not the case?

Everyone will have a different opinion of the schools based on what their own experiences are, but the fact of the matter is Copper Lakes is zoned to some of the more sought after schools in CFISD. It was a huge selling point when I just sold my home in the spring of this year. My neighborhood was zoned to the same schools and everyone wanted into those schools.

All of the high schools in Cy-Fair are good, there is no high school in the entire district that I wouldn't send my own kids to if we were to go public in TX.

All of Copper Lakes is zoned to Langham Creek HS, which isn't considered quite as nice as school academically as Cy-Falls, (funny cause it used to be considered a lot better 10-15 years ago), but LCHS' reputation will probably change in the near future back to what it was then as a lot of the older, lower-middle class neighborhoods zoned to it south of fm529 were re-zoned back to Cy-Springs over this summer. Back when LCHS was primarily zoned to Copperfield and Copper Lakes as it has just been made to do so again, it had a decent academic reputation.

I've seen other posts on here that strenuously disagree with you - for whatever reason, Cy-Springs, Cy-Lakes, and Cy-Ridge get put down by some, as has LCHS. Not saying they're right, but I'm wondering if you're in the minority opinion.

That said, as long as you're a good parent and your child has at least some motivation, why should it matter? Wouldn't such child get equally as good an education at those three schools as at Cy-Ranch, Cy-Fair, Cy-Creek, and Cy-Falls?

thank you for your note! In fact we decided to pick this based on our decision of sending kid to a private school! So I don't think then school district matters much instead we should worry about the money we need to pump in.

You're absolutely right that the experience at Cy-Springs, Cy-Lakes, and Cy-Ridge is night and day from the one you'd have at Cy-Ranch, Cy-Fair, and Cy-Falls. Langham has kind of waffled back and forth between desirable and undesirable, but hopefully with a recent rezone it will improve again to where it was before academically. I'm not sure if schools vary so much in other districts, but it has always been the case in CFISD it seems.
