What are the best zip codes for a sub 150K investment property in fort bend county? We will live in the home for about 2 years and then sell it. The location does not matter as long as it is in fort bemd county.

Search Houston Real estate, Houston homes, Houston Realtors - HAR.com for Fort Bend County.

If you truly want an investment property in Fort Bend County, i.e. something that will appreciate and/or cash flow for you eventually, at that price, I'd suggest extreme patience and discipline to only look at New Territory. Sub 150k properties show up only a few times a year there, but they do come up. Most will require some TLC. There is one there right now that is pending.

Other areas of Fort Bend County where prices are sub 150k are not good investment properties.

Greatwood too, maybe.

Could you look at some of those older homes off of Hwy 6 and Lexington? Not sure what they go for, I just happened to live in the apartments there across from a neighborhood there.

With only a two-year timeframe, the only way you're going to be able to call it an investment is if it needs serious TLC and you can do it yourself (sweat equity). Otherwise, real estate transaction costs will eat you alive.

This post made me laugh. Of course location matters, especially if you're going to live in the house for a couple of years.

I don't think you can find any property in Greatwood or New Territory that are sub $150K. That time is long gone. The normal minimum price in Greatwood or New Territory starting from $220K, look at har.com to do the search. The one pending in New Territory is a bank foreclosure that has been pending for ages. I think they are waiting for the bank approval, but obviously, the bank is not cooperating.
