That's true, and in today's world of infinite distractions, that could reduce road rage a little.

Yep, this is what I use. Really helps with making all of the lights, especially downtown.

That's not going to do anything for Houston drivers. I've seen numerous times where the light is already red but they still go through the intersection anyway when they were clearly able to stop. The original idea was that the Yellow light was supposed to be that 'countdown' to red, but how many floor it when they see yellow? Uh huh.

We already have counters on many lights. You just turn your head sideways to see the counter on cross traffic.
