Sorry to bother you again....I'm trying to get many opinions as possible about all the areas that interest me.....
I LOVE the Woodlands and would love living there. Everybody tells me I'm crazy if I wanna drive over there from Bellaire Blvd and Beltway 8. What do you think?....too crazy? What I love about the woodlands is basically the trees, there's no area, I think....like that, that's why I was looking for more established areas in Katy like Kelliwood, Nottingham Country or Green Trails. I heard also Cypress is good too but not so sure since Katy is more structures, I guess.
Pleasssssssseeeeeeeeeeeee.....opinions!!!!
Oh..I forgot....what do you think going to The Woodlands through Westpark Tollway East and then 45 North coming from Bellaire? (instead of Beltway 8 North and then 45 North)

Personally, I'd go with Cypress or The Woodlands.

Cypress has great neighborhoods of all types from ranch-style acreage, to forested master-planned communities like Longwood, waterfront communities, and luxury custom-home communities like Rock Creek. Great golf at Blackhorse, Longwood and a multitude of other great area courses. Great schools. Two big new mixed-use lifestyle/town center developments going in on either side of Cypress with Vintage Park at Louetta and 249 and Towne Lake at 290 and Skinner (along with a planned town center at Bridgeland).

Do an HAR.com search in the 77429 (wooded side of cypress north of 290) zip and 77433 (ranch side of cypress south of 290). Also check out 77070 and 77375 (Hewlett-Packard area)

Cypress is a good compromise between Katy and The Woodlands. You can go to either without an unreasonable drive. Personally I like Katy because it is in the Westside--where all the important stuff such as business and shopping in Houston gets done.

Eh.....290 is enough to question my choice to live in Cypress.

I think that instead of you asking people what they think of a particular commuting route, you need to take a few days off work and try it for yourself. When I was transferred to Houston in 1994, working downtown, we could live anywhere we wanted. A few test drives and we very quickly narrowed down our choices. Similar test drives will help you decide whether the housing gratification more than makes up for the commute dissatisfaction

That's quite the drive. I would imagine up to 1.5 or 2 hours on bad traffic days. It would probably take at least 1 hour from your work to your driveway with absolutely NO traffic.

I would choose Katy and just try to enjoy the area as much as you can. Especially with all the time you would be saving with the drive.

What about Sugar Land? If you do the test drive that tdhg566 suggested (VERY good advice), do it during rush hour to get the full effect. I know it's nice up there but that is going to be a doozy of a commute.
