You're absolutely right. "Inflict" was not a harsh enough term. The word I was looking for is "force".

It's not "inflicting" or "forcing" anything. Pull your pants up, and have a purpose if you're out and about on the property late at night. It's not asking much.

Compared to HOAs telling people what color they can paint their houses that they actually own, it's nothing.

Sure it is. It is this man's personal belief that sagging is inherently problematic, so he is forcing his tenants to dress the way they thinks they should. You may not have an issue with this but I do.

Keep the same clothes, just quit showing your boxers.

There should be a law against having your pants/shorts hanging off your knees showing your boxers or underwear.

Yeah those ruffians are causing so much trouble by having sagging pants. :roll eyes:

Seriously, why does he care so much?

Just look at 7500 Bissonnet. Those got tore-down and now there is a brand new brick facade three-story development. It's almost unrecognizable in that neighborhood. Considering the history of 7400 Bissonnet, this can only be a good thing.

Yeah, where does he get off? Who does he think he is? Who said he could just come in, buy outright one of the most dilapidated; bat, roach, bedbug, and rat infested; Beirut Boulevard for a parking lot; and gang-ridden apartment complexes in the city and then have the audacity to clean it up and make it safe for families - all while living there?

See how silly is sounds when you complain about color of a man's shoelaces as he crosses the finish line of the marathon you didn't run? I'm sure the people interviews for these stories/articles I've linked certainly don't mind.

I know it seems ridiculous, but it's a strategy to deter undesirables. Since he's investing, why not really invest? He's a businessman and realizes that as the owner of the property, if a bullet flies in an window and takes out a kid, there are quirky laws that could hold him liable. Extreme behaviors warrant extreme rules and the residents support it. I'm sure the curfew doesn't have to apply to a single mother who needs to work till 11. It has nothing to do with a wealthy individual enforcing a moral code."

Newsflash: Most people who aren't wealthy don't enjoy sagging pants or being kept up all hours of the night when you have to get up early to go to work the net day.

Deter undesirables? LOL. I love the Dickens era mentality to ownership. He owns, so any thing he says goes because everything an owner does is just rational self interest. The anti poor, borderline elitist stuff that people get away with on the Texas CD forum is so laughable.

Sagging pants = extreme behavior? Lol. Why do some of you act as though you're the guardians of some responsible traditional moral way of American life or something?

If they don't like it, they can go to one of the 800 other complexes on the SW side where the landlords are only there to collect Section 8 money.
