I rode it today and it was fantastic!!!! Traffic headed onto 610 was packed but traffic headed onto the ramp was flying. Loved it!

Yes, it was. Of course I was on it at about 10:45 after a Dr. appointment, but it was a nice drive.

I got on 610 at TC Jester yesterday and did not see the exit ramp for I10....did I miss it or is it not open yet? When I realized I was about to cross 10 I looked down and saw a ramp but I assumed that was a 290 connector ramp. The next exit was Memorial/Woodway which was horrible at 5:15

Next, let's dynamite that 610/Gulf Freeway interchange and start over there.

While we are wishing, I need an on ramp from 249 to beltway 8 I guess south, there is one north but I can't see that there is/was more traffic going that way than the other direction

On the south side? I'd agree there

Yep, that one. Whoever designed that thing had nothing but hatred in his heart for his fellow man.

It's one of the oldest interchanges in Houston. Not to mention they left the old interchange underneath it. I used to just get off and deal with the service road interchange instead of using the ramps. I grew up on the Gulf Freeway, it hasn't improved much in the last 30 years.

It's an old low ramp structure which is how most of the ones out here in LA are. I actually miss the good old Houston mega interchange when I'm stuck in a cloverleaf exchange between two MAJOR freeways out here. I guess they don't build them high and grand because of earthquakes. So count your blessings to commute in Houston.

Yes, and most delays on Houston freeways are due to obsolete/inadequate freeway design. You could say the Gulf Freeway in general taught the highway designers in the rest of the country how not to design their freeways.

I live in Ohio now. Much less of that stuff here. But over the years I've wasted a lot of time in that spot where the onramp off Woodridge pumps more cars right into the lane that's backed up of people who are first trying to get on 45, then trying to get across not one but two exit-only lanes.

Often I would take the exit before for northbound 45, but turn back onto the feeder road of the old interchange underneath, then onto the feeder to get on 45 where you still get to weave into the through lanes which are full of cars moving unnecessarily slow because of the poor design.

It needs to go.
