I was speaking with a Realtor over the weekend and he was saying how he spends money to have a guy come out regularly to spray for insects in Katy (forgot to ask what area exactly since Katy is big).

Does anyone know the situation in Grand Mission Estates / Lakemont? I don't mind bugs, but not to the point they become a nuisance. I would hate to incur this cost regularly at our home which we are building.

When I lived in Grand Mission, I never felt the need for an exterminator for bugs.

I wouldn't pay someone to do pest control. Solutions pest control over off Mason Rd for all your needs.

No matter where you live in TX, there will be bugs. That being said, I don't live far from Grand Mission and I wasted $40/month for a year ($480 total!) on pest control services for our home and lawn. Complete waste of money. Just spray for what you need to spray for and do your own pest control if things get out of hand. The common bugs are going nowhere fast.

if you are moving or purchasing a place to live do it yourself before you move things in and make sure to do it thoroughly and research what product to go with. I need to ask my Dad what he uses. he did my place and the critters that find their way in still end up dead several years later.

as for finding an area without them? good luck, unless your planning on some serious cedar wood paneling and such. don't most critters not like cedar if I remember correctly?

I don't understand what you're saying?

Common bugs are fine, but I'm referring to infestations lol. Are you still spraying?

Depends. Sometimes new construction displaces what was already a there and you will see bugs more than in settled areas - for awhile. Haven't heard of a particular problem there.

spoke with my Dad. he said he uses Demon WP:
Best Price: Demon WP Insecticide Cypermethrin 40%

and he gets it from the store off Beamer.
https://www.solutionsstores.com/Solu...ions_s/178.htm

it does do the trick. he said it is a powder he mixes with water then uses one of those pump sprayers.

from searching looks like there is youtube videos on how to use it and seems you can get it off amazon and a number of places. I know my Dad didn't watch any youtube videos though so can't say how necessary that is. might have some helpful suggestions though.

Go to Solutions Pest Control on Mason Road and get the products you need and a sprayer. Then you can kill whatever bugs or other vermin you have around your home.
