It's such an easy trip. Just go down all the way i10 until you hit Phoenix ! Lol.

There's a speed trap in Deming, NM (65mph) but other than, you're smooth sailing.

I'd drive to El Paso Saturday (12hours) then EP to phx (7hours)

I've done San Antonio to Phoenix(solo)in one day but wouldn't recommend it unless you have someone else with you :0

Thanks for the reply, I read in some blogs that there are some areas in this route somewhere nearby El Paso where there are drug dealers, and unsafe to drive, is tat safe route? are there adequate gas stations on this route?

Notorious speed trap between Junction, TX and Ozona, TX as well. Once you're past Ozona, you can set the cruise control at 85 all the way to El Paso. Make sure you top off on gas in Fort Stockton.

Whatever rumors you heard about cartel banditos near El Paso are most likely a bunch of b.s. As long as you don't make any detours South of the border that won't be an issue.

Lololol not on this side of the border! Are you serious? Whoever told you that was joking Besides--El Paso is always in the top 3-4 safest cities IN THE U.S.

Beware of speed traps around Fort Stockton & Van Horn.

(I'm hoping your typing/grammatical errors are due to typing on a phone---)

My brother and I just made this trip the first of Oct. Took IH-10 all the way. Stopped in Van Horn, TX overnight (8 hours and 42 minutes from Houston), staying in a nicely restored historic hotel called the Hotel El Capitan. It had a nice breakfast buffet the next morning. It is another 8 hour drive from Van Horn to Phoenix.

You don't need to worry about crime on the way, just mind your own business and don't mingle with people you don't know.
