Hi, very intrigued by the large lots and beautiful trees. We are a family with young kids and love a little space. Any Tower Oaks residents or those who live by who could give me info on the neighborhood? Are they're lots of Famiies? Are there major changes coming to the neighborhood that are concerning? Is there a nice community feel or do people keep to themselves? I know this is vague but I'm starting at ground zero in terms of knowledge so would appreciate anyone chiming in. Thanks!

I was born and raised next to Tower Oaks and had several friends who lived in TO. My mother still lives in the same house right next to TO in Barwood, so I drive through it regularly. It's held up really well and several of the families we knew there growing up are still there 20 - 30 years later. It's always been a beautiful and safe area. I can't give specifics of how neighborly people are, but it's a well established neighborhood that I think would make for a great place to live.

I live close to Tower Oaks and drive through it regularly to work. It seems like a very quiet neighborhood.

Very pretty, wooded, and I believe you can have horses. Lots of people ride their horses along the Cypress Creek trails near North Eldridge.

Be aware that some of the homes in that area lie within the Jones Road Superfund monitoring area. I admittedly would hesitate to buy a home with well water near there but it also means that the water is monitored much more carefully than other areas of Houston.

Keep in mind there are Superfund sites all over Houston with tens of thousands of people living near them.
