I know I said it already, but homes along the grand parkway west of I-45 going all the way to 290 I think are going to be good options once it's completed. There's already a number of neighborhoods being drafted up between 290 and 249 north of where it'll be going in. There will be some light traffic heading north that way, but I'm willing to bet it will be moving the whole way; it won't take that long, roughly 20-30 min to go from 290 to I-45 once it's completed.

Lake Conroe is not that far. It's worth the extra drive just to be in such a beautiful area. I just couldn't see myself living in The Woodlands. Nothing bad about it but I would just prefer Lake Conroe.

Conroe is nice and has natural beautiful. It looks better than say, Sugar Land, IMO.

I am not sure that you are talking about the same Conroe as everyone else.

In terms of natural beauty, Conroe is nice. Well, at least I can appreciate it, since I like pines and rolling elevations better than flat almost treeless terrain. That's neither here nor there though.

From Fall Creek the commute is reportedly 35 minutes or so, provided you take the hardy toll rd. 45 is a non-attempt for me.

Once he's in The Woodlands full time (who knows how long that will take?) I still don't see us moving up there, just because our son will be in elementary and we'll have child care for the other one near Fall Creek. Maybe that will change, but the neigborhoods I looked at in Spring and The Woodlands are all getting a little out of control. Fall Creek seems like the more affordable option and hopefully the commute will stay ok for a while.

We briefly considered living in town, but I think that only makes sense if you're trying to split a commute. Garden Oaks to the new campus is at least 45 minutes, and it's hard to get to the hardy toll from GO in the morning without hitting traffic. Due to school issues and very high housing costs there it really became a no-go fo rus qutie quickly.
A lot of em employees live in fall creek and summerwood too. More in fall creek though.

We will be facing this in the next year.
Likely the Heights with a reverse commute for my husband. He is a city guy and right now commutes 35 minutes daily from inner city Dallas to Irving. Because he cannot fathom living in Irving, Southlake, etc.
Although I am trying to sell him on Springwoods Village because the commute would be so easy. We've only lived in 80+ year old houses in the middle of cities so this will be a hard sell! Both of us have a difficult time looking at an empty neighborhood and getting excited about it.
