I just noticed this near my window frame upstairs. I think it might be mold (100%). How can I remove the mold without having to take out the complete wood. Picture below:

Default Spray with a bleach solution

I would spray a simple water/bleach solution on it. Then, scrape the old paint, and re-paint. From the looks of it, you do not have a water leak, it looks more like condensation.

BTW, you can purchase these little packets of mildewcide paint additives; mix it into your paint to help prevent the mold from growing again. They actually work and you can find them at the Home Depot, or Lowes.
