I think it's pretty good; a step above fast food definitely and nice that you can get a beer. Buns are good but burgers are small. Burgers are better at 5 guys or Smashburger, but they're pretty good at fuddruckers.

Way over priced and the newer joints like Smashburger have definitely surpassed them.

Aren't they priced about the same as Smashburger?

As opposed to Whataburger, perhaps? I think there are a lot of factors. It's a chain that spread quickly at one point, then closed a lot of locations on a number of occasions. It was never that kind of mainstay like Whataburger. Then there's the price point. It was more of a special occasion than a staple. I associated it with an outing like going to a Rockets game where, as mentioned, there was one across 59 when they played at what's now Joel Osteen's house.

I remember the buns at Fuddrucker's more than anything. I didn't care for the location in Galveston off Harborside as much. Think I heard that location was owned and operated as a separate franchise, but I'm not even sure on that.

First place I think I ever had a bison burger. I know they had a pretty good condiment/veg selection of burger toppings. It was definitely a step ahead of the usual fast food burger.

I remember reading that Luby's had a connection with them now (via Papoas), & there's one over on 45/Webster. Now I need to go check it out!
Florida has Fuddpuckers. Did they also have Fuddruckers?

Fuddruckers is delicious, my second favorite to Whataburger. Fuddruckers to me is way better than that overrated five guys slop.

Lol--you're probably right--it was at LEAST 25 years ago, & I'm sure some adult beverages had been consumed at the time!

Fuddruckers makes one of the best hamburgers around. It may not be the hipster cool trendy place. Bt the food is excellent and it is a good location for the whole family.

Luby's is partially owned by Pappas, by the way. So, through their ownership in Luby's, Pappas has ownership in Fuddruckers. The new Luby's concept over at Post Oak and San Felipe was apparently developed under the direction of Pappas. There may be other locations with the new format as well, but I have not seen them.

Also, the Fuddruckers at I-10 West and the Beltway has been there for around 20 years, so that is another one that has been in Houston for a long time.

Fuddruckers has very good burgers. Definitely better than Whataburger. I swear Whataburger puts some kind of sedative in their food that makes it great for like two hours and then gives you a burger hangover. Also, I think Smashburger is too greasy. Now 5 Guys otoh is also really good. I don't even know if I could choose between 5 guys and Fuddruckers. Probably 5 guys, but it depends on the day.
