I maybe eat a " burger" out once or twice a year. We go to Pappa's Burgers. I really dont care about the cost since it's a once and a while thing. best Burger in Houston IMHO. To me, more meat than bun is a good start. High quality beef, vs. Frozen pre- shaped patties is a must.

Smashburger is this fatty, thin piece of meat hiding within wads of bun. Boys gave it a tumbs down. Five Guys just looks too greasy. Both are actually glorified, national fast food chains at this point. Same with Fuddrucker's, but the atmosphere for post sports league games is spot on. But I won't eat it.

Beck's is a good second for me.

I love a tasty burger here in town and Fuddruckers still remains one of my absolute favorites. I know people scoff because it's a chain, but it's a chain that delivers a good burger every single time. Non-chain, my fave is Bellaire Broiler Burger. Not into the fancy boutique burgers at all.

Speaking of non-chain burgers, has anyone tried Palm Restaurant's ground steak burger? $20 includes fries. Yessir............party in your mouth.

I have liked Fuddrucker's for years. DH does not. They redid a former fast food place on Louetta a couple of years ago. It is smaller than the one at Willowbrook.

Fuddrucker's, Luby's and Pappas may be chains, but they are Texas local along with Chuy's.

I always thought Fuddrucker's was a pretty decent burger. I really like their buns, and when I used to live close to one, I'd go buy a bunch of their buns when I'd have a burger cookout at home.

I don't know if they still serve them, but they used to have ostrich burgers, and those were dang good. No, I'm not one of those people who recommends something because it's different. The ostrich burgers tasted like a burger made with top quality beef, but much more lean. The only reason I even tried one was because when I joked to a friend that he needed to order one, the manager talked me into trying it with the promise of replacing it with a regular burger and comping my meal if I didn't like the ostrich. So what did I have to lose?

Well, so much for that recommendation, I just checked their site and they only have boar, elk and bison now - Fuddruckers.com: Fudds Exotics

I live not far from the Fuddruckers on the Northwest freeway but I haven't been to a Fuddruckers for over thirty years. I remember when they first came out in the 80s but it was just too much meat on a burger for my taste. I want to give it a fresh try after reading this thread.

Cue's is good, but the last time I ordered from Wild Kitchen my fries were literally covered in salt. As for overpriced burgers, Fuddruckers has been doing it forever; but if they were ever king of the hill they were pushed off by Bernie's Burger Bus.

There's been a fuddruckers outside of Copperfield near Cypress for well over a decade now, so I wasn't aware that it wasn't already 'pushed' into town. I always just assumed there were multiple locations around the city already.

You are right. They've been all over Houston for decades. OP has been living under some form of rock.
