6.33 cents once it's all said and done with all charges? Meaning that once you get your bill and divide what you have to pay by KW, you end up at 6.33 cents?

I find that EXTREMELY unlikely.

You need to look at what your final cost is per KW, and the cheapest I know of right now is 10.9.

Um, check powertochoose, that's quite far above the lowest rates right now for fixed and variable.

Square footage is great, but I think if people posted their actual usage (in KWhs) it would be more helpful. Everyone has a different home, so its hard to compare apples to apples just on size.

In regard to the 6.33 cents, I'm assuming that is either the energy charge or a 3-4 month product. 12 month average rates at 1,000 Kwhs are in the 8-10 cent range on Powertochoose for Centerpoint.

when they're in the 6 to 7 cent range, they are most likely not including the Delivery Fee and other fees they tack on. the 10+ cent range should include all applicable fees.

why is Star Tex charging me 10.2? I have been their loyal customer for 5 years.

I had a fixed contract end with Startex at a good rate. They didn't offer a competitive rate for re-signing. I changed power companies and secured a good rate with better terms. Once I changed, I got an automated email from Startex with a lower rate that their first offer (still not a good as I found elsewhere). I'm glad I changed, I now have a better fixed rate and better terms.

Also, sign up in winter months. Its easier to get lower rates vs. signing up in summer.

Loyalty means nothing to an electric provider. Everyone is a just a service account that brings in money.

Many companies believe those customers who stay longer will actually pay a higher price. I like to refer to it as "putting them to sleep." If you keep paying your bill every month without a second thought, and don't shop around, why would a company try and give you a better rate?
