Does anyone know the future plans for Katy Flewellen? We're looking to buy a home that backs up to it, but we're wondering if that road will get expanded in the future and becomes noisy.

Thanks in advance.

Kevin

I am sure at some point they will widen it. That area is all prepped for houses and there is one retention pond so far. Don't see anything else planned as of now unless it hasn't been released on the economic forecast going forward.

They already widened the portion between Gaston (old Katy Gaston) and Pin Oak and the latest mobility plan includes widening Crossover, which will become part of Katy Flewellen. Eventually, it will all be widened. If you look at the linked map of current and future major thoroughfares, Katy Flewellen is on the list. But the segment you are talking about looks like it is going to be removed in favor of Spring Green Blvd. If the lot falls closer to Crossover, you will likely have the future Spring Green behind you.

That was extremely helpful so thank you very much. The house is closer to Corbitt than Crossover so we should be fine if they're going to close off that section of Katy Flewellen.

Well, it all depends on what they do with that triangular segment of land between the future Spring Green and north-south run of Katy Flewellen. That property is part of Silver Ranch and their website does not show that area subdivided into lots yet, so you can't entirely be sure what will be built in those sections. They may keep a portion of that segment of Katy Flewellen for access by the adjacent neighborhoods - if you look at the upper left portion of the property map (by the section labeled "Park"), you will see a piece of roadway that would seem to curve up from the present day Katy Flewellen to Spring Green. I would expect this to remain a 2-lane road.
