I live in north side of bellaire. My flood insurance rate went up from 450 to 750 because of new legislation. I thought rates should not go up from more than 25% a year. What is the increase you guys got this year?

If you live in a 2 story house you can choose to insure only the lower floor which I did a few years ago and that cut a good chunk of change from the bill. But to answer your question my rate stayed exactly the same it has been over the past few years...

max increase can be 37% when you count in surcharges such as 250 fee for second homeowners.

I own two homes in a flood zone where if you have a mortgage you have to buy it. I am pretty familiar with it.
