A few family members of mine are going on a cruise, they are seniors citizens and they don’t have a car. What’s the cheapest/best form of transportation they can take to Galveston from Houston. Any recommendations? or perhaps a shuttle service that is cheap.

Must: a large van that can hold 5 people and 5 large suitcases.

I will rep anyone who helps. Thanks

Cheapest would be if someone in your family has a van and is kind enough to drive them to and from. There are some cab companies that have vans. Not sure if a cab service is cheaper than a private car company such as excelsior limo but I imagine the taxi cab would be less.

How to Get to the Galveston Port Without a Car | Galveston Cruise Tips
Thanks Texas, Yeah I saw that site, I just don't think they can justify dropping $100 per person. I'm almost thinking about renting a cargo van for them and taking them myself. either way, thanks for the response

Maybe you can borrow a friends vehicle, maybe a truck that can hold all of you, and you can toss the luggage in the bed.

My wife checked into the costs, the Blue Shuttle costs about $75 per person, each way. There are really no inexpensive transportation companies, especially when the amount of people multiplies. We found it cheaper to drive to the Galveston port and pay to leave the vehicle, just as you do at the airports. For one week, it was only $60.00. The cruise has this as an option you can buy.

75 dollars each person each way? that is a total rip off. even parking at iah is cheaper then 60 dollars a week.

60 a week to park at IAH sounds questionably cheap. Guessing this is some satellite lot that you have to be shuttled to the airport from and not actually in the IAH garage.

I'd rent a 15 passenger van for the day.
