Are we talking about the actual city of Katy or the unincorporated Harris County area of Barker, Tx? Most of what people are describing sounds like the Barker area.

The poster mentioned Cinco Ranch, so they are talking about the larger area.

I had been following the news recently and seen stuff about biker gangs in texas. Would Cinco Ranch be affected by this at all?

I will be going there in two weeks.

Wow! The only biker gangs will be the annoying cyclists who think they own the road. These "gangs" have plenty of spandex and attitude.

The location of the biker gang fight is almost 200 miles from Katy so its like saying I'm moving to Boston but I heard there was crime in New York City.

However according to others -- it's the only area worth living in.

Non any more than biker gangs where you are currently located.

Perfect description of Katy! I get lost every time I go there. There is some economic diversity, with some burbs being more "MPC" and some with a more pronounced working class feel. If you like nature and can stand the heat, there is Bear Creek Park out that direction and also the Terry Hershey Park which has a nice long bike trail. There are no more bikers in Katy than anywhere else. I think that biker incident was pretty isolated. Plus, if you look back over history, Waco just attracts weird events and people. From David Koresh to a Baptist institution of higher learning--it's crazy.
