Timely post this for me, I need something similar...

What does my shopping list look like for leak detection?

Just:
ISY994
and the leak detectors

Im also considering a webcam, and was considering a smart front door lock, though I was considering the Kevo kwikfit.

Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated!

They create a solid Insteon wireless network. Each Insteon client V2 also acts as a repeater. Insteon communicates over the existing power wiring as well as wireless. Very very reliable. I have over 50 Insteon devices in my house, rock solid for 4 years.

To program and control everything you can use a standalone controller ISY994i Home Automation Controller

Mine I control it through my main server which is a Mac Server and I use the Indigo software to interface with all my automation devices in the house https://www.indigodomo.com

If you're an engineer this is really a self-install and configure project. Lots of info in the internet and I will gladly help

The only one I really had hard time and to hack my way around is around my automated window blinds. I had to build the hardware interface myself with some of the shelf stuff. EPO is your friend :-)

I hope this helps
I like the fact that they have a switch that fits a "traditional" toggle switch.

ToggleLinc Relay - INSTEON Remote Control On/Off Switch (Non-Dimming), White

I don't like using the large switches, because I have the decorative plates throughout the house, and I like the smaller toggle better.
