Folks,

Is there anywhere on lake Conroe where there is a picnic area where you can launch jet skis? I have found a few boat ramps but I am not sure of any that have picnic areas. It would be nice if there was something on the water that we could pull the jet skis up to and take a break or switch riders.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Dave,

One thing you might consider is to put in at one of the marinas by the shopping center with Sam's Boat and Fajita Jacks, both of you ride over to there and get a patio table at Sam's. One can be snacking and having a beer or margarita while the other rides and then you swap out. They have some restaurant slips at the dock.

Other than that, there is the public boat ramp off of 1097 and Scott Ridge Rd. There is a grass area there, but I can't remember any picnic tables. As long as you took some folding chairs, there are plenty of trees to sit under. There are two things I'd caution you about up there. First, there are a lot of the boaters that go to that cove can be fairly aggressive towards the "mosquitos" (jet skis). Secondly, there are a few a large stump fields that keeps the boating area fairly narrow, but you could take a right and head out toward the main lake.

Out of curiosity, have you considered Alexander Deussen Park on Lake Houston by the dam? They have lots of picnic tables and a dock there. There are no stump fields there and you'd be on the main lake where other boaters wouldn't be an issue. Just something else to consider.

Pedro,

Once again thanks for replying. I think the Lake Houston option is what we are going to try. I was going to ask about the lake also so I am glad you suggested it. That park looks like it is just what we are looking for. We have a couple of jet skis and a group of six or seven so that park looks like it will be a perfect place to check out.

Thanks again!
