I work in Freeport....I made the trek down here and they just now told us to get our stuff done, and then to go home... lol well 70 miles of driving down the drain but I will take the early day off of work. Stay dry everyone.

According to National Hurricane Center forecast on 7:00 am CDT today the storm will miss Houston.

I don't see anything wrong with people getting prepared. If it doesn't pan out, at least they're ready for next time... after all, it is the start of the hurricane season.

and the media does this to generate more viewers, simple. Sometimes they are right but mostly they overreact.

The storm is slow moving. We are on the dirty side of it. The Houston area is already saturated. I am not sure how we can all claim people are over reacting because they decide to grab some water and food. I don't mind losing power, being stuck at home due to road flooding, or even some property damage. I will however make sure my family has food and water.

The storm slowed down, so the morning wasn't bad, which means that the afternoon commute out of Downtown will SUCK!!! I hope that my company decides to shut down the office before the Metro gets cancelled, or I'm hitching a ride back home with my boss LOL

I don't think most Houston areas are getting anything over an inch of rain, just a rainy day. Typical Houston Weather Hype.
