Hello, we went to visit Fall Creek this past week and liked it. We are now looking at some homes within our price range in Fall Creek and other neighborhoods closer to meyerland like Maplewood, willowbend, willow meadows and westbury (zoned to Parker, Kolter, Herod Elem Schools.)

My question is this, which do you think would be a better buy in terms of resale, taxes, schools, easy access to shopping etc Fall Creek vs the houston neighborhoods of (Maplewood, Willowbend, Willowmeadows, Westbury).

Thanks

For proximity to amenities, hands down the various "faux-Meyerlands." They are right by the Galleria area, super close to the Medical Center, Highland Village, Meyerland Center, Greenway Plaza, and a lot closer to downtown.

Fall Creek would offer a much newer, and in a lot of people's estimation, a much nicer home.

Depends on priorities. As far as resale potential, I definitely lean towards the close in areas.

I think it's 50/50 for your criteria. For resale and access to shopping, the houston neighborhoods. For taxes and schools, Fall Creek. Just my .02

Taxes are usually cheaper in Houston.
Burbs are often 3.0 and up, plus MUD tax.

Considering what's going on in the economy and tract housing industries, I'd chose a close-in hood.
