I would like to make my garage into a table tennis and billiard room. Currently, I am just using the garage for storage for kids sports toys and tools, etc
As anyone in Houston, put billiard and table tennis in the garage. Will table tennis and billiard table get ruined due to humidity and heat?

A nice pool table would get messed up in a garage. A key aspect is the condition of the felt which would be subject to moisture and temp extremes plus bugs

A pool table is like a boat fun but one of the greatest days is when you sell it. I wouldn't buy one from someone that housed it in a garage even an attached one

Not if you insulate the walls put up drywall paint walls and put a sealer and clear coat or stain the concrete floor. Also you might want to install a window ac unit if there is a window.

If you do an actual conversion with a window unit you need to check your deed restrictions first. It may not be allowed.

People who use their garages for something other than putting their cars in it...<sigh>, the embarrassment of the street.

Why not use the garage for what it is intended for and put your cars in them?? However I understand if you drive a truck and that won't fit and you have to park in the driveway.

Practically no one in our neighborhood parks their car in the garage.

It shouldn't take too much to insulate and sheetrock. Add a split system, it'll be much better than a window unit. If its not climate controlled you want want to be out there most of the year anyway. As long as you keep the garage door the HOA won't know or care. Plus you do want to keep it a functioning garage for when you need to sell it.

They make pool tables for outside.

DH thinks the play is not so good, though. Why spend 2500$ on something to ruin? Get horseshoes or something.
