Cows are like having horses...lots of work and expensive...especially if you don't have a pasture for them to graze.

Pigs and chickens are way cheaper to raise...but zoning often nixes that idea.

So you still need a good source for milk (if the grocery store is not where you want to buy it)

Are you sure? I thought the law in Texas was that you could only buy raw milk direct from the farmer.

It looks like there was a recent bill that made it through the house to allow sales at farmer's markets, but I'm not sure if it passed and Sprouts wouldn't really qualify for that.
