See how easily the "bathroom issue" can be managed in more enlightened parts of the world: Council OKs bill to make single-stall restrooms gender-neutral

I realize this is too much of a challenge for some on this forum, however, who believe such a commie, Yankee, "dumo-crat", socialist solution violates human nature the way God meant it to be. Folks like a retired ball player, for example. To those of you who hold this world view, I say: Keep up the good fight while the rest of the world moves onto more pressing matters.

Why wouldn't a transgender person with male anatomy go into a single-stall restroom with a "Men's" sign on it?

I'll leave that to you (and others who may be similarly baffled?) to ponder.

That is not even part of what is being debated....NOBODY has ever complained about gender neutral one person bathrooms. EVER. The issue is clearly gender neutral bathrooms where there are multiple stalls...

Mens bathrooms have urinals...some dont have a divider, so anyone coming in, if they were intent on getting a peek, would be successful.

That is not generally the issue though...I think most concern revolves around MEN in womens bathrooms. B/C lets face it, men are generally the more sexual deviant of the sexes.

Keep in mind, I'm not worried about the actual transgender people; I'm worried about the male freaks out there that will use this as a way to extend their perverted ways along with those out there who might be shopping for a lawsuit.

There are too many stories out there about the lengths male perverts will go. They hide video cameras in the women's restrooms. They drill holes in walls, They hide in the ceilings. There was even the case of the man who climbed into the tank of porta-potties to spy on women in the restroom ( http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nati...icle-1.1442306 ).

The last thing I want is a law that allows any man to just say "I feel like I'm a woman" and go freely into the women's restroom where my wife are daughter may be trying to use. It might be that moment that they switch from fetish to action.

I'll repeat, the transgender people are not the issue. The issue is any law that will give the perverts (straight men who have weird fetishes and sexual predators) easy access to female restrooms.

This argument makes no sense. A dangerous man will dress as a woman in order to use the women's restroom only because it's now legal to do so, only in order to commit a much worse crime that is clearly illegal? He'll only commit a felony if he doesn't risk a misdemeanor? Come on.

It's my understanding that a man wouldn't have to be in a dress; therefore, a man dressed in jeans and polo search can walk into a women's restroom as long as they make the claim they identify as a woman.

Are you claiming this is not the case?

I think the appearance of the person is immaterial to your logical fallacy. You are suggesting that by virtue of the legality of condition A (visiting the woman's room) a man may be tempted to engage in the clearly illegal behavior of condition B (all the things you listed).

At the point at which a man begins pondering attacking a woman in the women's bathroom, he has clearly already reconciled himself to illegal behavior.

This discussion is so ridiculous. There is nothing to see in the women's restroom but feet. And actually not even feet, since who goes barefoot into a public restroom? Even the foot fetishists would be disappointed.

(Egads! But what about women who identify as men??? All these years I've been victimized by women using the women's restroom!)

You clearly do not understand the additional risks.

Woman are assaulted in the restroom all the time.

Go to Google and search "woman assaulted in restroom" and you'll see page after page after page after page of stories of it occurring.

Allowing men to go into the women's restroom will give sexual predators a means to inspect potential areas as well as to enter them without any fear of confrontation.

Without the HERO law, if an employee notices a man going into the women's restroom from time to time, the employee can not only question that man but also call the police and/or ask him to leave. Under the HERO law an employee could not do such. If it turns out to be a sexual predator hoping to find a female alone in the restroom, it could make the difference between a rape occurring or not.

Some people might feel that the very real risk of rape isn't nearly as important as a Transgender feeling comfortable in a restroom, but I feel that rape is a very important issue.

Would you feel comfortable sending your 9-year-old daughter into the men's room by herself at a bowling ally?
