Why to the local news stations give the North Side and West Side the most attention seems a little weird.
From most to least attention

North
West
Centeral
South West
North West
South East
North East
South
East

What in the are you talking about?

I'm on the North side and unless a family of 6 is shot execution style, a baby gets killed or shot or a group of people get shot the news teams don't feel the need to drive outside of the Beltway to get the north news.

An every day robbery of the local gas station gets 10pm news time on the South side. Even SL, Pearland and League City get attention.

Northside all around is abandoned....unless someone gets shot. Goforth. News. The family shot by the wife's baby daddy of her 4 kids. News. The baby in Champions shot with grandpa's gun. News. The family off 45 shot by the Utah ex-husband or uncle and the oldest pretended to be dead. News. The lady shot driving on 45 with the white SUV cutting her off. News

See the pattern here? Shot or 13, 11, 26, etc acts like the Northside doesn't exist. I can't remember the last time they reported anything in Humble/Kingwood/etc.

I guess no one has been shot in a long time.

The Chronicle will do a story on car accidents here and there but the actual TV stations? Please.

And I'm being totally serious. It has to be VIOLENT for them to cross the Beltway 8 North.

That's basically a list of the sides of the metro that are most populated, which makes sense that the news would have more to report on regarding and why would give those areas more attention.

Why would anyone be upset that their area is not always on the news. I'd say that's a good thing. Southwest Houston stays on the news and it's definitely not a good thing.

Is this a joke? Some of the most affluent parts of town pretty much run parallel directly south of I-10 from downtown all the way out to the beltway.

Houston is a multi-lingual city. What are the hot areas for Univision? BTW where did you get your stats on coverage?

I only notice that in regards to traffic reports; however, that would be logical considering our traffic situation.

For God's sake news people... Come up with names for the different areas in Houston
Every time they say "A murder happened in North Houston" I c... My pants until I see that it happened 20 miles away from my house

I hate when they call part of the inner loop like the Montrose area South West or like a few miles west of the galleria area South West . Please call the areas the correct areas they are
