How old are they? Not a lot of value in used PC's, especially for older ones. Keep in mind that you can't put them in the trash.

Slightly related question, how do you properly erase and destroy old hard drives? I've been keeping my old unused ones for about a decade because I don't know what to do with them.

I have kept mine the same as you because the only reliable way is to physically damage or destroy the platter inside. Lately I have seen a few shredding places advertise they do this but I haven't tried anyone. Software alone overwrites the disk which effectively thwarts anyone like you or me, but it would still be retrievable by somebody with sufficient hard drive expertise.
