We live in Cypress (Copper Lakes) and love it. We bought here to get better value on the house and have no regrets. I commute to the galleria normally but occasionally down to the EC. Commute time is all about time of day. I get to the Galleria in <25 minutes but that's at 5am. Same time of day to EC is 15 mins.

I live 3 miles from work in the Energy Corridor. On bad days, it can take me 20 minutes to get to the office.
Ah, my apologies for the misunderstanding.

How long does the commute from Copper Lakes to the Galleria take at around 7AM?

I avoid that time. About an hour give or take. Sometimes more.

Trying to relieve congestion in one place results in more congestion in another place. I thought this would be obvious by now.

Plus when rapid population growth resumes, Cypress will be a beneficiary - meaning that soon after 290 will fill up again.
So why isn't the IH-10 connector being built like in the original plans from the 1960's? I was hoping to see that when the West Loop was quad-carriaged but it turns out that the left dual-carriages are for the 290 HOV lanes. Looks like TXDOT has a conflict of interest since the Houston District office is built on the connector's ROW. (I can't imagine dealing with the Texas equivalent of the GAO prioritizing co-locating in state-owned office buildings though.)

It's called the big F-up along FM 1463.

If Houston MSA wants to improve congestion it would do what other modern and smart metropolitan areas do, build subways/els and commuter rail. But, that won't happen because Houston MSA loves air pollution.

This......on bad days it takes me 20-30 minutes making the 5 mile stretch from my house to I-10 and Eldridge.

Usually it's 10-15 minutes......
