We're moving from Waco and trying to find a rental home so my husband can start a new job in Sugar Land. We had a realtor but then realized they aren't much help in the rental market. Any suggestions on a company or someone in particular who could actually help us find a good rental?

And the rent is just too high in Sugar Land. I've tried looking in other random suburbs but if anyone knows of cheaper cities with good schools within an hour drive of SL that would be so very helpful!

What is your budget? Have you tried looking at Richmond? It's right next to Sugar Land.

Go to HAR.com and look for rentals. Plenty there.

Trying to keep it under 1200 but 1400 max. Richmond is too much as well. I've gone all the way out to Manvel and Pearland with no luck.

That's what I've been using. I've run out of suburbs I know are within an hour.

Wow. I never seen anything like this in Sugar Land. Only 2 houses available at that price. There usually is quite a few houses available for rent here.

Maybe you look into signing a short term apartment lease?

There are bunch of new apartments here and price is within what you looking at.

Use the Search by Map tool on HAR. It's under Search. You can draw the map boundaries and it will show you results within those boundaries.

HAR sometimes wont give the information you are looking for with just the city and price....I just put in your $1400 max, and looked under school district for Fort Bend(Sugarland, Missouri City)...there are 77 properties that meet your criteria, but to be very blunt, some of them are old and decrepit in my opinion.

under Lamar Consolidated ISD(Richmond, Rosenberg, parts of Sugarland), there are 28 properties listed for rent right now at $1400 and less. a combo of newer and older housing stock there.

good luck on your search and welcome to Houston.

Your 1200 budget is likely a little too low for sugar land, it's one of our nicer suburbs. I have friends that just rented a 3br for 1400 out there.

I just did a search for 1200-1450 in Richmond, zip codes 77406 and 77469. There are 15 available.
