Walmart charges me 69 cents and USPS $1

Any store cheaper than walmart?

I assume banks charge more

Some banks (if you have an account) will not charge you.

Otherwise walmart is it.

with a debit card or cash they do not charge?

Which credit union in Houston I can be a member of? I thought you have to be affiliated or an employee of a certain company to be a member of a credit union

Just use walmart or the usps.

By the time you drive all over the place looking to save a few cents you've wasted money.

The only people who would need that much money orders are either the folks that don't have a bank account or are laundering money and hiding cash. You obviously have a bank account since you are paying with a debit card

Anyone laundering money or hiding cash isn't worried about paying 69 cents. Or, could be a very frugal mobster I guess.

Most apartments require deposits via money orders. When we lived in a rental house, our landlord required deposits in money order form.

I have rented 7 (I think) places in my life and I have never used a money order. Not just for rent -- I've never used a money order for anything.

you can buy visa gift cards with a credit card (earn points/cash back) and then use them as a debit card to buy money orders and deposit/rinse/repeat
