My brother and his wife are thinking about moving to this area, and wanted to see if any of you guys are currently living in this area? If so, what is your opinion on it? We have been trying to look at future projects around the area, but could not really find any. I know they were planning to build a walmart supercenter, but decided to cancel the project.

I saw an article in Impact News about the Walmart being canceled but, I am not sure about it. If you look at the developer's website it still show a Walmart Supercenter being build there. They are working on the plot of land now.

I live in an adjacent MPC. Make sure you check the school zonings because MiraMesa is zoned to less desirable schools than any of the other communities north of it. Otherwise, love the area and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

The Walmart is cancelled and a new full service movie theater is going in its place. It was on Community Impact a few months ago.

IMPACT ROUNDUP: Movies, music and food to hit Fry Road in Cypress | Community Impact Newspaper

The article says the theater will be on the Northeast corner.

The fifth Houston location of Star Cinema Grill will be built in the Miramesa Town Center at the northeast corner of West and Fry roads.

If you look at he site plan the Walmart will be on the Northwest corner.

I personally would be more concerned about the schools than the Walmart. I thought Miramesa would of been zoned to Cy-Ranch during the last rezoning ( Cy-Park ) and when the Bridgeland HS opens but it was not.

Shoot I stand corrected. This is a way more updated brochure than the last one I saw. Was hoping the Walmart was off the table.

I was hoping the Walmart project was going to be cancelled but I guess not after reading that newsletter. I spoke to the sales manager and she said they are also building another elementary school in the miramesa neighborhood. This should surely affect the zoning lines in the future.

I do not have any kids right now, but planning to a few years down the road. In my personal opinion, I think how the parents raise the kid will determine if their education would be successful or not. Again, this is my opinion because of what my wife and I went through growing up.
