My truck is registered here in Texas and has Texas Plates. I purchased the truck in California and have a California Pink Slip (title).

How do I go about selling this truck here in Texas? Do I need a Texas Title? What paper work needs to be filled out by me (seller)?

Thank You

whatever you do besure to take the plates and any registration sticker off your old car when you sell it. You can also go online and report it sold too. Specially if they refuse to meet you at the title place to transfer it. Most people buying cars wont transfer it until they have to which opens you up to liability.oh don't forget to take off and deactivate your toll tag if you got one.

WRM20 gave you the link to the forms, the 130-U is what you need for a car that will be driven. You don't need a Texas title to sell it, since Texas did not require that you get a new title when you moved the vehicle to Texas, as evidenced the your Texas license plate and CA title you have now. Fill out the form, a bill of sale, and keep your plates as was mentioned if you want to force them to change the title. They can get a temporary transit tag from the website linked to above. Or they could keep the plates if you want to go to the tax office with them to make sure title is transferred, especially if the plates were recently renewed.

Now you might have a buyer question the CA title, in that case you can offer to go to the tax office with them so that it is taken care of properly. That would make sure it is done right away too.

Good luck on your sale!
