Can someone please give me some advice on the Houston area. My husband and I are considering relocating to Houston from Ohio, and are wondering if there are a lot of jobs in the factory/industrial/manufacturing field, and is so, what is the general pay rate? thanks.

" jobs in the factory/industrial/manufacturing field"

That's a VERY general definition. In houston we have lots of industries to work in. The best in terms of pay would be in the chemical refineries.
Pay can range from $12 to $30/hr depending on craft and experience. One catch those will be contract work. So in two months you'll be looking again, but it's not to hard to find another job.

What previous jobs has your husband held?

Contract work for the refineries seems pretty steady. You won't be working at the same place all the time, but you'll make a living. There are people who do work at several refineries along the coast.
