Hello,

I've been searching for a few days now without much luck. Does anyone know of any apartments or condos that will rent to a Great Dane owner? I even saw a few places that had signs saying "Large Dogs" but when I walked in it was a "oh we accept up to 75lbs" lmao...

Target Area is Galleria, don't care about inside or outside of loop. Just need a place that will accommodate a Great Dane or Large Dog (125-150lbs).

Thanks in advance!

You are probably going to have to rent a house - and even then, it won't be a walk in the park to find a landlord that will accept such a big dog. On the plus side, there is a list of aggressive breeds that makes it impossible for a landlord to find insurance - and I have not heard that Great Danes have ever made that list. Be prepared to put up a hefty deposit, though.

Even a private rental at a condo or townhouse community usually has an HOA that exclude dogs that big.

Maybe post a question on the Great Dane Club of Houston Facebook page?

You may want to consider the apartment complex called The Grand on Memorial located near Memorial and Eldridge. They allow large pets and it is a gated community right next to Terry Hershey Park so you can walk your dog by just walking across one side street to the park - about 100 yards to walk over.

They also offer bags for picking up after your pet and disposal cans for pet waste.

$300 extra payment to cover damage and cleaning the apartment post-lease, and $25 per month for your dog to live with you.

Convenient location close to where you work (within reasonable commute) and good area for restaurants, shopping, etc.

No affiliation with the place, but I lived there with my 120 pound hunting dog. There was a Great Dane there for a few months.

Worth a look...you decide.
